About Caftea'

Caftea' [kaf-tee-ah!] was founded in 1991, in the lush suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia.

We are purveyors of fine coffee, tea, chocolate, and other gift products. Originally a local destination to sip lattes, nibble on salads or dessert while enjoying jazz musicians, the owners expanded to an online presence, enabling visitors from all over to enjoy many of the same quality products.

Our original inspiration was derived from frequenting cafes across Europe. We often visited patisseries throughout Paris. These fine French bakeries, specializing in pastries and sweets, were a delightful interlude as we strolled throughout the many vibrant boulevards, avenues, and rues (streets).

We had the pleasure of observing local artisan pastry chefs while making a variety of tasty treats from biscotti (Italian twice-baked cookies) to profiteroles (French puffed pastries). Their use of fine, but few, and natural ingredients was intriguing.

On frequent trips to South America and Central America, the quality of the coffee beans and freshness from growth to roasting to packaging was uplifting with every cup of coffee. The light body, simplicity, and sharp acidity distinguished the coffee in this region from anywhere else in the world. Interestingly, Brazil produces 35% of the world's coffee, and is grown at lower altitudes, thus lower in acidity.

Aromatic tea leaves from all over the world, whether loose or custom-blended, in a variety of white, black, green, and red offer another healthy alternative to one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world.
